The artist could not bring himself to paint the eyes of a dead man...

Oil Portrait of John F. Kennedy

A lot of people have different interpretations of this painting of J.F.K; whether it was created to symbolize his death, or whether its meaning is a deeper one of the struggle he went through as a president during a time of increased problems in Vietnam and with the U.S.S.R

One thing is made clear, however, by the artist. He did not want to paint the eyes of a man who was great and no longer with us.
